Building and publishing a mobile app can be stressful. After all, you have to deal with Apple and Google requirements, app reviews, version management, device-specific bugs and many other mobile-specific challenges.
So let's get together, talk about the challenges of building mobile apps, share what's worked (and what hasn't), and learn from each other's experiences.
This session is aimed at people who:
- Are building their first mobile app for the App Store and/or Google Play
- Already have one or more mobile apps published
- Work with mobile products regardless of your area (developer, product, marketing, etc.)
This will not be a talk or presentation. Rather, we'll follow a roundtable format where I'll introduce a few questions to kick-start the discussion and encourage participants to share their experiences.
Possible ice-breaker questions:
- Do you build only for iOS, Android, or both? Why?
- Do you monetize your app? If so, how? What do you consider a decent conversion rate?
- Share a struggle you had when registering your personal or business account on Google Play or the App Store.
- What's your strategy for app localization? Do you translate your app into multiple languages?
- Are you in favor of free trials? Why or why not?
- Do you use AI in your app, either during development or as a feature for users? How?
- What's your strategy for marketing your app?
- Do you store user data? If so, what database or infrastructure do you prefer?
- Share one tip, lesson learned or mistake that other mobile app builders could benefit from.
Whether you're just getting started or already have published apps, everyone is welcome to join the discussion.
