Men's Work Intro

Hey Guys 👋

This is a safe space for men to express deeper emotions, grow in connection and to learn about what masculinity looks like in other cultures

That being said, a few ground rules:

- Container: Please be on time, and don't come and go throughout - that will be disruptive to the container and we are creating a safe space

- Confidentiality - you can speak about your experience, but please don't share other people's

- Ownership - Use "I" statements when sharing.

e.g. don't use "you" phrases like "You know when you feel abc about...xyz situation".

Instead say "When I did xyz situation, I felt...abc emotion"

- We're not here to fix each other, but to offer space and build each other up. When sharing advice, books and resources are welcomed but speaking from direct experience is better

Agenda:

- I'll do an intro on my background in men's work and setting of expectations of the space

- I'll ask the group a few themed questions, and we'll have a round of timed sharing - each person will get ~2 min if they want it, depending on the size of the group to share

- Then, depending on time and group interest, we'll open it up for a group discussion at that point, and anyone can request feedback or if someone wants to dive deep on an issue I can run a facilitated exercise for that man
