What does it actually take to create the next Bansko, Chiang Mai, or Medellín?
In this highly interactive workshop, participants will work together to design a nomad hub from scratch. We'll explore the key ingredients that make places succeed or fail: accessibility, housing, community, founders, events, local integration, economics, and long-term sustainability.
Participants will propose locations, debate trade-offs, and build a complete hub concept in real time. Along the way, I'll share lessons learned from helping build the nomad ecosystem in Bansko, running Coworking Bansko and Bansko Nomad Fest, leading Coliving Semkovo, and now exploring how places can become future hub.
By the end of the session, we'll have several competing hub concepts and a much clearer understanding of what actually creates a thriving nomad destination.
Extra info:
Interactive workshop rather than a presentation. Participants will work in small groups and present their hub concepts.
No special equipment required, but a flipchart or whiteboard would be helpful if available.
Expected audience: founders, community builders, event organizers, destination managers, and anyone interested in nomad ecosystems. Maximum value with 15–40 participants.
